Wagon Wheel Ice

Wheel Deep Ice

This has been a winter of ice more than snow. Ben’s rocket wagon is frozen into a large glacial sheet of ice that built up below the spring. In places it is over 18″ deep – I know because looking down through the ice I see the tops of lidded five gallon pails that have sand in them which I had been saving. That’s a huge hunka ice. Reminds me of the ice sculptures of other years.

Outdoors: 25°F/10°F Sunny
Tiny Cottage: 68°F/62°F

Daily Spark: “Most gods throw dice, but Fate plays chess, and you don’t find out til too late that he’s been playing with two queens all along.” -Terry Pratchett

Dumb Pig, Smart Pig

Remus

Pigs are not very smart, contrary to some urban mythology. Pigs have very tiny brains, about the size of a tea cup. They’re very good at being pigs, at their instinctual behavior, but they’re not intellectual giants. Their heads look big because they have so much muscle and bone. Their head is a great shovel designed for rooting. Rather, they’re thick between the ears. For a pig this is a good thing.
